1. Install free security software.
2. Microsoft Security Essentials ( Download & Tutorial ).
3. Spy-Bot Search & Control ( Download & Tutorial ).
4. Malwarebytes ( Download & Tutorial ).
5. CCleaner ( Download & Tutorial ).
6. Scan and remove malware from computer, including viruses and spyware using Microsoft Secuirty Essentials, Spy-Bot Search & Control, and Malwarebytes.
7. Remove unnecessary system tray and startup items using HijackThis ( Download & Tutorial ).
8. Remove Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, History, and Form Data using CCleaner.
9. Uninstall unused apps/game demos/animated mouse effects etc ( XP Tutorial & Vista Tutorial ).
10. Verify Windows Firewall is working properly.
11. Check & Repair Internet Connection.
12. Install all Windows & Microsoft Office Updates ( XP Tutorial & Vista Tutorial ).
13. Install latest hardware drivers.
14. Repair any miss-configured Windows Settings.

16. Check and optimize system resources.
17. De-fragment hard drive ( XP Tutorial ).
18. Check Drive Controllers for proper settings.
19. Check media drives, and USB hubs are working properly.
20. Clear old System Restore Points and set new System Restore Point ( XP & Vista Tutorial ).
21. Check system specs, and advise on upgrades.
22. Check fans for excessive noise.
23. Clean PC case:
    1. Vacuum dust and debris from PC internally ( Tutorial ).
    2. Wipe outside of case.
24. Instruct customer on basic computer maintenance procedures.
